With a robust system capacity of 1.9712 MWp, comprising an impressive fleet of 3,584 solar panels, each boasting a rating of 550Wp, and supported by 24 inverters, the Design Village Outlet Mall emerges as a frontrunner in the renewable energy revolution. This ambitious solar installation is poised to generate a remarkable 2,868 MWh of solar energy annually, solidifying its unwavering commitment to a greener and more environmentally conscious future.
The environmental impact of this solar marvel is truly commendable. By embracing solar power, the Design Village Outlet Mall is expected to offset an astonishing 1,833 tonnes of CO2 equivalent emissions each year, totaling a staggering 42,928 tonnes over a span of 25 years. These impressive statistics, duly verified by the Malaysia Green Technology Corporation, are tantamount to planting a magnificent 715,469 trees, with each tree capable of sequestering approximately 0.06 tonnes of CO2e during the same time frame, as reported by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
Moreover, this solar installation will substantially reduce the reliance on non-renewable energy sources, concurrently supporting the annual energy needs of 693 households. By empowering the community to embrace renewable solutions, the Design Village Outlet Mall envisions a future where approximately 39,037 tonnes of CO2 emissions will be avoided over the next decade, along with an astounding 150 million kilometers of petrol consumption reduction.
Standing tall and proud, the Design Village Outlet Mall takes its place as one of the largest solar-powered outlet malls, setting new benchmarks for sustainable and eco-friendly infrastructure. Its construction, which commenced on January 4th, 2023, was marked by unwavering dedication and meticulous attention to detail. The mall was successfully completed and commissioned on May 15th, 2023, serving as a testament to the collective efforts of visionary architects, skilled engineers, and diligent construction workers who toiled tirelessly to bring this ambitious project to fruition.
