GEORGE TOWN: The Malaysian government is taking its services directly to the people of the northern states through a massive 3-day MADANI Rakyat 2024 programme to be held from 3rd -5th May in Penang.
Organised by the Prime Minister’s Office and Ministry of Transport in cooperation with the Penang state government, the fair at the Sungai Nibong Pesta site aims to help locals understand and access the new policies and welfare initiatives implemented by the MADANI administration.
With 196 service booths from federal ministries and agencies, the northern edition of the MADANI Rakyat programme is expected to draw over 100,000 visitors from Penang, Kedah and Perlis. Check out the full list of services here >> PROGRAM MADANI RAKYAT – Malaysia MADANI
A key highlight is the Career Carnival, which offers over 1,500 job opportunities across various sectors. Traffic offenders can also get up to 50% discounts on unpaid summonses at special Royal Malaysian Police counters.
In a bid to promote road safety, the Road Transport Department (JPJ) will be exchanging 5,000 helmets for free to motorcyclists. Attractive discounts of up to 20% will also be offered on a wide range of products under the Rahmah Sales scheme.
To encourage cashless payments, the first 1,000 visitors to the MADANI Sale section can redeem an e-wallet voucher worth RM20.
The Ministry of Transport is facilitating public transportation by providing free bus services every hour and ferry services between Butterworth and Penang island. KTM’s Komuter train services from Padang Besar and Ipoh will also be operational for two days during the programme.
The Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will be present at the fair’s closing ceremony on May 5, which will coincide with MADANI Aidilfitri celebrations.
“This programme allows the government to deliver services efficiently to the people while getting valuable feedback to further improve our initiatives,” said a spokesperson from the PM’s Office coordinating unit PACU.
The MADANI Rakyat 2024 series kicked off last December with a successful programme in Bukit Jalil and aims to bring the government’s MADANI vision of prosperity and integrity to all Malaysians.
