The Northern International Audio & Visual Show (NIAV) 2025 will expand beyond traditional Hi-Fi and Home Theater displays to include free live performances throughout the event. Organisers have confirmed that both the expo and performances will be offered at no cost to attendees.
Wilson Teoh, director of Gryphon Production, shared the vision behind this new direction: “We are proud to announce that NIAV 2025 will incorporate dynamic live performances, driven by our commitment to enriching the local music scene and providing a platform for emerging talent.”
Teoh added that music brings people together, fosters creativity, and strengthens cultural identity. In Penang’s thriving arts scene, these live performances aim to create a more immersive experience for visitors while highlighting local musical talent.

The event will showcase a variety of Penang’s musical groups, including performances from the Penang Jazz Society and Tonal Alchemy, led by local maestro Wilson Quah. Private event bands such as The Harmonious will also take the stage during the show.
A highlight of NIAV 2025 will be a special concert performance by Nao Yoshioka, a soul singer from Japan. Rolling Stones Magazine praised her album ‘The Truth’ as “impeccable neo soul.” With her powerful vocal talent and meaningful lyrics, Yoshioka has become an important figure in the global soul music community.
The event aims to support local artists and strengthen Penang’s music scene. Organisers have extended an invitation to music enthusiasts, industry professionals and community members to attend and participate in this unique audio-visual experience.
