Precision cleaning solutions provider KYZEN has expanded its footprint in Malaysia with a new facility in Penang that deepens its manufacturing and technical base in the country, NST reported.

The company officially opened the facility on 8 October 2026, building on more than 16 years of operations in Penang. The ceremony was attended by Deputy Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Sim Tze Tzin, representatives from MIDA and Invest Penang, industry partners, customers and suppliers.

The new facility represents a substantial financial commitment, though KYZEN and MIDA did not disclose the investment sum. It is designed to lift production capacity, improve product delivery and strengthen technical support services, using advanced manufacturing technologies and environmentally responsible operations, MIDA said in a joint statement with the company.

Sim said the expansion demonstrates KYZEN’s confidence in Malaysia as a strategic hub for advanced manufacturing and technology-driven industries. “KYZEN’s expansion in Penang is more than an investment in facilities. It is a commitment to innovation, people, and the future of advanced manufacturing,” he said.

“By bringing world-class cleaning technologies and technical expertise closer to its customers in Southeast Asia, KYZEN is strengthening the region’s manufacturing ecosystem while creating valuable opportunities for local talent and industry collaboration,” Sim said.

MIDA chief executive officer Datuk Sikh Shamsul Ibrahim Sikh Abdul Majid said the expansion reflects the confidence established investors continue to place in Malaysia’s manufacturing sector. Investments such as this one support the growth of the country’s semiconductor, electronics and advanced manufacturing industries and fit the New Industrial Master Plan 2030, he said.

KYZEN president and chief operating officer R. Erik Miller said the new facility enables the company to serve customers across the region better while creating quality employment opportunities in Malaysia. “We are extremely proud of this new facility. We are thrilled to continue offering our industry-leading chemistries and lab services from this improved space,” he said. Miller also commended the “KYZEN Clean Team” in Penang for its work through the move and transition.

The expansion comes amid sustained investment activity in Malaysia’s manufacturing sector, which secured RM51.3 billion in approved investments across 973 projects in the first half of 2026, according to MIDA.

KYZEN said the facility supports customers in the semiconductors, electronics, automotive, medical devices and industrial manufacturing sectors. The company said it will continue collaborating with industry stakeholders, educational institutions and government agencies to support technology transfer and talent development in Malaysia. The facility is also expected to play a role in supporting regional growth and supply chain resilience across the Asia-Pacific region.
