Xventure Opens RM8 Million Indoor Adventure Park In Penang

Xventure has opened its first Malaysian outlet, an RM8 million indoor adventure park at The Waterfront Shoppes at The Light City in Penang, spanning about 1,800 square metres. The park holds 11 adventure zones and 32 interactive attractions that mix physical challenges, interactive technology and social experiences (Bernama).

Three attractions anchor the floor. The Challenger Arena rises eight metres and runs on a digital tagging system with a real-time leaderboard, letting visitors track scores, chase rankings and challenge friends. The Aerial Rope Course sets its obstacles 4.5 metres above ground, and the Gigantic Seesaw is billed as the largest of its kind in Penang.

The park targets teenagers, adults, families and corporate groups. “Visitors can test their abilities, enjoy friendly competition and connect through shared experiences,” Xventure said in a statement.

Visits can be built around solo attempts or team play, with challenges chosen by group size, interest and preferred level of activity.

Xventure is a spin-off of Kiztopia’s family edutainment business, and the group’s chief executive officer and co-founder Heidi Tian pointed to the state’s consumer base and tourism economy as the reason for the move (The Sun). “Our ambition is not simply to open another indoor adventure park, but to create a cross-generational leisure destination that brings together physical challenges, interactive technology and social experiences,” she said.

The opening ceremony was officiated by Tourism, Arts and Culture Ministry Penang state office director Dr Annuar Mohamed. Tourism Malaysia northern region director Abdul Hadi Che Man and Tian were also present.

Penang follows Xventure’s earlier launches in Thailand and Hong Kong. The company said it will use the outlet as a starting point to explore long-term growth opportunities in Malaysia.

Admission runs as two-hour or all-day entry, with packages for two people and for groups. Non-peak two-hour entry starts at RM40 for X-Junior and RM60 for X-Plorer, with ticket categories set by height. The first 100 customers from 29 Oct to 1 Nov can buy a second ticket for RM1 while stocks last. The park trades daily from 10am to 10pm.

Corporate clients get team-building sessions led by certified trainers and a certificate of completion. Xventure said it is working towards HRD Corp-claimable training and team-building programmes.

The brand’s arrival widens the group’s reach past children’s play areas into a venue pitched at adults and mixed-age groups.

Sitting inside a shopping and dining destination, the park gives visitors an all-weather indoor stop and residents a new weekend option.
