South Korean singer-actor Lee Junho, 36, has named nasi lemak and roti tisu as the dishes he enjoyed most during his stay in Kuala Lumpur. The star of Typhoon Family said he tried both during the trip, according to NST, and that the flatbread left the deeper impression of the two.
“Yesterday, I had the chance to try nasi lemak and roti tisu. Both were extremely delicious. I am not sure why it is called roti tisu, but its towering height and sheer size really caught my eye,” he said at an exclusive media session at TGV Cinemas, Pavilion Bukit Jalil.
“I had so much fun tearing it apart piece by piece starting from the top. It was quite a fascinating experience because I got to pair it with various sauces and toppings.”
He worked through several dips, including curry, chocolate and pistachio, and said the pistachio version stood out. “I love pistachio, so I tried it with that. I also had it with condensed milk, and everything tasted amazing,” he said.
Asked which local dishes he would take home, Junho picked the same two, adding that he had also eaten the roti tisu with kaymak, a creamy dairy product, Kosmo noted. The session came at the end of a four-day CuckooTopia pop-up at the mall, which ran from 22 to 25 October.
The food talk followed his turn on the Cuckootopia stage at Stadium Merdeka on 24 October, the centrepiece of Cuckoo Malaysia’s 12th anniversary celebration and a follow-up to Anugerah Melodi Terhangat 2026. The concert ran from 6pm to midnight, with Junho appearing as the company’s Global Brand Ambassador alongside Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza, rock band Hujan and singer Firdhaus. “This was my first time taking part in the Cuckootopia concert, so it was a very enjoyable experience for me,” he said.
Roti tisu, also called tissue prata, is a thinner and crispier take on roti canai. The dough is stretched until it is nearly transparent, then cooked and shaped into a tall cone before it is served with sugar, condensed milk or chocolate. Diners usually break it apart from the top, which is the part Junho described.
The 2PM member said he would gladly return for another concert of the same kind. “I was so happy to see the fans yesterday. If given the opportunity to attend another concert like this in the future, I would be absolutely thrilled,” he said.
On his acting work, Junho also reflected on his part in season two of the reality show Kian’s Bizarre B&B, describing the project as a new challenge in his career.
