Water supply has been restored to 99% of the areas impacted by the planned disruption in Penang, as of 10 am today, according to the Penang Water Supply Corporation (PBAPP). The restoration effort has successfully reinstated supply to approximately 337,000 of the 341,708 affected users.

The PBAPP is working diligently to return water supply to areas located at the extremities of the distribution line and elevated localities in the Barat Daya district. PBAPP states, “Users in the districts of Seberang Perai Utara, Seberang Perai Tengah, Seberang Perai Selatan and Timur Laut who still face water supply issues can contact the PBAPP 24-Hour Call Centre at 04-2558255 and 04-5096509.”

The scheduled disruption commenced at 10 pm last Friday and is expected to conclude tomorrow. This disruption affected 341,708 accounts across five districts and was put in place to facilitate 23 water supply service improvement projects. These enhancements are set to benefit approximately 465,000 consumers served by the Sungai Dua Water Treatment Plant, with a total investment of RM25 million.
