Boustead Holdings Berhad has launched the Boustead 200-Year Journey (B200), starting a two-year countdown to the group’s bicentennial celebration in August 2028.
The initiative was unveiled in Penang, the city where Boustead’s Malaysian legacy began. Boustead Group is wholly owned by Lembaga Tabung Angkatan Tentera (LTAT), and the B200 platform marks nearly two centuries of history since the original Boustead company was established in 1828.

Boustead Holdings Berhad Chairman General Tan Sri Dato’ Sri (Dr.) Haji Abdul Aziz Haji Zainal (R) said B200 marks a defining milestone in the group’s transformation. He said it reaffirms Boustead’s role as a strategic national conglomerate with a sharper focus on high-impact industries tied to Malaysia’s economic and social priorities.
“As we approach the historic milestone of Boustead’s bicentennial, we reflect with pride on two centuries of resilience, transformation and unwavering commitment to nation-building. This milestone is not only a celebration of our enduring legacy, but also a reaffirmation of our continued endeavour to shape the future,” he said during the soft launch of B200.
The event also saw the unveiling of Boustead Group’s official B200 commemorative logo. The logo represents the group’s shift towards becoming a more agile and future-ready organisation.
Defence remains a central theme of the B200 journey. Abdul Aziz said the group intends to build strategic defence capabilities that strengthen national resilience.
“We remain steadfast in our commitment to delivering sustainable value for LTAT and the Armed Forces community by building strategic defence capabilities to strengthen Malaysia’s national resilience, and drive the nation’s long-term economic and social prosperity,” he said.
He added that the group remains focused on nation-building and supporting the Armed Forces community.
“We remain committed to nation-building and supporting the Armed Forces community, growing alongside Malaysia’s economic and social development, while continuously adapting to evolving market dynamics. As Boustead’s heritage approaches its 200th anniversary, we are reaffirming our purpose, strengthening our foundations, and preparing ourselves for the next century of growth,” he said.

Boustead Group was privatised and delisted by LTAT on 28 June 2023. Since then, the group has worked on strengthening governance, operational resilience and organisational agility, with B200 building on that groundwork.
Boustead Holdings Berhad Group Managing Director Dato’ Indera Ir. Dr. Hj Ahmad Sabirin Arshad, FASc, said the transformation goes beyond strategy. He said it requires disciplined execution across the organisation.
“We are strengthening our business model to enhance competitiveness and create sustainable long-term value, while undertaking financial and corporate restructuring to optimise capital allocation and position the Boustead Group for future growth. At the same time, we are building organisational readiness by investing in leadership and talent development, deepening engagement with government, industry and strategic partners, accelerating digitalisation and technology adoption, and expanding international collaborations to facilitate technology transfer and bring global best practices into Malaysia,” he said.
Sabirin said Boustead Group plans to take on a coordinating role between the Ministry of Defence, the Malaysian Armed Forces, local industry, global defence partners and academia.
“Moving forward, we will play a central role in orchestrating collaboration across the Ministry of Defence, the Malaysian Armed Forces, local industry, global defence partners and academia. This includes facilitating joint ventures, technology transfer initiatives and strategic alliances with leading international defence companies, while identifying opportunities for mergers and acquisitions that strengthen national capabilities,” he said.
