A Penang-based Pokémon card collector is asking RM4,444,444 for part of his personal collection, just months after selling a complete set for RM1.87 million.
Damiral Imran announced on Facebook on 1 May that he is letting go of a collection he spent six months building. The stash includes sealed booster boxes, professionally graded cards, and ultra-rare holo editions from the early days of the Pokémon Trading Card Game, according to The Rakyat Post.
Some individual cards — including pristine-condition Charizards, legendary Pokémon sets, and limited-edition promo cards from exclusive tournaments — are valued at tens of thousands of ringgit each. Valuation experts estimated the full collection at between RM4.68 million and RM4.75 million, but Damiral set his asking price at RM4,444,444.
For buyers who prefer a creative deal, he is also open to a trade: a Mercedes-AMG GTS plus RM3.8 million in cash.
Damiral is offering RM80,000 as commission to anyone who successfully connects him with a buyer. All transactions will be handled on a cash-on-delivery basis in Kuala Lumpur.
This is not his first headline-making sale. Last year, Damiral sold a complete Pokémon card collection reportedly worth more than RM2 million for RM1.87 million. That deal closed within 10 days at the full asking price. At the time, he had also floated an alternative involving RM1 million in cash and a Porsche 911 Carrera 4S, though the buyer chose to pay the full amount in cash instead.
The Pokémon Trading Card Game has seen a surge in collector interest globally, with rare cards fetching record prices at auction. Malaysia’s collector community has grown alongside this trend, with Damiral’s transactions standing among the largest private Pokémon card deals in the country.
