The Penang State Government is seeking corporate contributions to support the Penang Future Foundation (PFF) scholarship scheme. This initiative aims to assist outstanding and deserving Malaysian youths in pursuing their undergraduate studies within Malaysia. The PFF, established in 2015, is funded by donations from the private sector and individuals, with the goal of nurturing Penang as a talent hub and mitigating brain drain.
The scholarship programme is managed by an Accounts Committee headed by the Penang State Finance Officer, while the Selection Committee is chaired by the Chief Minister of Penang, Chow Kon Yeow. Other notable members of the Selection Committee include Dato’ Seri Nazir Ariff, Dato’ Daisy Ooi, Dato’ Loo Lee Lian, Emeritus Professor Dato’ Dr. Lim Koon Ong, Dr. Lim Kim-Hwa, and Dato’ Danny Goon.
The PFF scholarships are open to all eligible Malaysians, with preference given to outstanding youths from single, low to middle-income families. Upon completing their studies, recipients are required to work in Penang, contributing to the state’s diverse talent workforce. The foundation continuously welcomes contributions from private sectors and donors to support its mission of providing opportunities for young Malaysians.
