PLUS Malaysia Berhad (PLUS) expects increase in daily traffic from 1.4 million to 1.6 million vehicles during the Chinese New Year festive period beginning 28th January 2022 to 6th February 2022.

In anticipation of this increase, PLUS’ Travel Time Advisory (TTA) provides a guide for highway customers leaving the Klang Valley to northern most destinations like Perlis, Kedah, Penang and North Perak to enter the highway before 10am in the morning. Similarly, this applies as well as to highway customers heading towards Johor to the south.

For destinations closer to the Klang Valley and other states, customers should plan their journey to enter the highway after 1pm in the afternoon.

PLUS Chief Operating Officer, Datuk Zakaria Ahmad Zabidi encourages travellers to follow the TTA in order to avoid congestion as it can prevent vehicles heading to various destinations from converging various locations along the highway at the same time.

He reminds highway customers while it is a joyous occasion that has been long awaited to not let our guard down and maintain Covid-19 SOPS especially when stops are made at the R&Rs and Lay-bys. MySejahtera scan is still required and dine in is allowed for fully vaccinated customers while physical distancing must be adhered to.

Datuk Zakaria also cautions that during bad weather conditions to drive safely and to be alert, hence sufficient rest and sleep is important prior to one’s journey. He also reiterates that proper journey planning and vehicular maintenance increase safety on the highway. Seat belts are strongly encouraged for all passengers sitting at the back. Child safety seats are also important to protect the little ones. He also advises customers to always drive following the speed limits on the highway.

PLUS highway patrol teams, PLUSRonda are always at hand to assist in case of any eventualities and are easily contactable via the PLUSLine at 1800 88 0000 24/7, 365 days a year.

To ensure a seamless and smooth journey as one enters and exits the toll highways, ensure that the Touch ‘n Go card and Touch ‘n Go RFID e-Wallet have sufficient balance at all times. The latest traffic updates are available from the PLUS App journey planner CCTV function, PLUSTrafik Twitter and P.U.T.R.I (PLUS Unique Texting Realtime Interface) chatbot as well as the highway electronic messaging signages. Highway customers are encouraged to use Waze and Google Maps to navigate their journey as well.
