Eastin Hotel Penang demonstrated its commitment to community welfare through a significant corporate social responsibility (CSR) event at the Cat Beach Sanctuary in Teluk Bahang on Wednesday, 4th December 2024.

The initiative focused on supporting animal welfare and environmental conservation. Hotel team members participated in multiple activities, beginning with a donation of essential supplies to the sanctuary. A guided tour highlighted the sanctuary’s mission and the challenges faced in caring for rescued cats.

A beach cleanup formed a key part of the day’s activities, with volunteers collecting waste and debris to protect Penang’s natural environment. The event aimed to raise awareness about animal welfare and environmental preservation.

Winnie Suzan Yip, Hotel Manager, emphasised the importance of community engagement. “This collaboration is about inspiring others to create a sustainable future,” she noted.

Led by Professor Teviot Fairservis, the event showcased the sanctuary’s tireless rescue efforts. Participants heard moving stories about cats given a second chance at life through the sanctuary’s dedicated work.

The CSR initiative reflects Eastin Hotel Penang’s broader commitment to community well-being and environmental protection. Located in the Queensbay area, the hotel continues to demonstrate its role as a responsible local business.
