GEORGE TOWN: Beyond Contemporary Art Penang – International Art Summit & Expo 2023 (BCAP), initiated and supported by the Penang government and the state Tourism and Creative Economy (PETACE) office, BCAP is set to redefine the cultural landscape from November 9 to November 12 at St Giles The Wembley Hotel.

A Global Art Extravaganza: The event promises to be a feast for the senses, showcasing over 500 art pieces from 17 countries. BCAP goes beyond a traditional art exhibition; it intertwines business, art, tourism, and education, making it a unique global economic initiative.

Government Endorsement: YB Wong Hon Wai, the State Tourism and Creative Economy Committee chairman, expressed his enthusiasm for the event’s potential to attract art enthusiasts. He commended Penang for taking the lead in promoting tourism, art, business, and education through this cross-industry initiative.

Dedicated Founders and Team: The success of BCAP is attributed to the dedication and hard work of BCAP founding president Datuk Ch’ng Huck Theng and the BCAP team. Their commitment has transformed BCAP into a mega-event that transcends conventional boundaries.

Distinguished Guests and Collaborators: The event saw the presence of notable figures, including Datuk Khoo Boo Lim (MAH national vice-president), Datuk Tony Goh (MAH Penang chapter chairman), Calvin Goon (Affin Bank Berhad Wealth Management head), Datuk Seri Lee Tiong Li (FMM Penang Branch chairman), and Siti Hajar Mohd Yunus (Tourism Malaysia Northern Region deputy director).

Visiting the Cultural Extravaganza: Art enthusiasts and the public are encouraged to visit the exhibition during the specified hours:

  • Noon to 6 pm (9th November 2023)
  • 10:30 am to 8:30 pm (10th November 2023)
  • 9:30 am to 8:30 pm (11th November 2023)
  • 9:30 am to 3 pm (12th November 2023)
