Two Perodua Axia cars are up for grabs in the Love Penang Run 2026 lucky draw, the state government announced today as registration opens for the fifth edition of the community running event.

Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said the cars are sponsored by Penang Forward Sports Club (PFSC) adviser Datuk Tom Khoo, adding that the lucky draw prizes are expected to draw strong interest, as the Buletin Mutiara reported.

The 5.5km run will be held on 22 November at the Batu Kawan State Stadium, starting at 7am. This marks the first time the event moves to the Batu Kawan venue, after previous editions were staged in Bukit Mertajam on the mainland, as Guangming Daily noted.

Organisers are targeting 10,000 participants. The event is jointly organised by the Penang State Sports Council (MSNPP) and PFSC, with support from the Penang state government and Seberang Perai City Council (MBSP).

“After four years of organising the event, Love Penang Run continues to grow as an event that not only promotes a healthy lifestyle, but also carries a greater message, bringing people together through sports,” Chow told reporters at a press conference.

The early-bird registration fee is RM20, with every participant receiving a T-shirt, finisher’s medal and goodie bag, plus a chance to win lucky draw prizes. Registration is open from today.

PFSC president Datuk Lim Choo Hooi said the run will start and finish in front of the stadium, adding that ample parking space at the venue will help minimise traffic congestion.

The event is open to everyone regardless of race, religion, age or background, reflecting what Chow described as the spirit of togetherness among Penangites, in line with the Penang2030 vision of building a “Family-Focused, Green, and Smart State that Inspires the Nation.”

“Love Penang Run is not merely a running event, but also a manifestation of our love and pride for Penang,” he said.

Besides the two cars, the event is expected to offer a range of other attractions and lucky draw prizes as organisers work towards their 10,000-participant target. The event carries the tagline: Love Penang, Love Sports, Love Our Community.

Also present at the press conference were state Youth, Sports and Health Committee chairman Daniel Gooi Zi Sen, MSNPP director Harry Chai Heng Hua, and representatives of various sponsors including Moonwork Group, A.T. Precision, Daily Recipe Industries, Eastroc Beverage (Malaysia), A. Clouet (Malaysia) and RED ONE Network.
