ISSQUARED Opens Technology & Innovation Hub in Penang
American IT solutions provider ISSQUARED Inc. has launched its Malaysia Technology & Innovation Hub in George Town, adding a new facility focused on hardware development and global engineering operations in Penang.
The hub will support the design, testing and validation of servers, storage systems, networking equipment and laptops, ILovePenang reported. It will also handle system integration and supply chain coordination for engineering builds. The facility is based in Penang and forms part of ISSQUARED’s wider global expansion plans.
“The investment strengthens ISSQUARED’s ability to expand our engineering capabilities and speed up product innovation,” said Bala Ramaiah, Founder and CEO of ISSQUARED. He added that the Penang centre increases operational flexibility and improves supply chain agility across the company’s worldwide engineering network.
InvestPenang CEO Dato’ Seri Loo Lee Lian said the opening reflects Penang’s continued success in attracting technology-driven companies. “As AI adoption continues to expand, the demand for secure digital infrastructure, advanced computing platforms, high-performance hardware and sophisticated engineering capabilities will continue to grow,” she told ILovePenang. She added that facilities such as the ISSQUARED hub could support the development of reliable digital solutions and strengthen the network required for the next generation of technology-driven industries.
ISSQUARED, headquartered in the Greater Los Angeles area, provides cyber security, cloud infrastructure and managed services to hundreds of clients including Fortune 500 companies, according to Pocket News. The company acquired CCT Technologies in May 2024 to strengthen its Microsoft Azure talent. Its engineering and security operations are based in Chardon, Ohio.
The Penang hub marks a new phase for ISSQUARED in Southeast Asia. As the Malaysia operation matures, the firm plans to expand the centre’s capabilities to include additional engineering and operational functions, reinforcing its long-term vision of a globally connected innovation network.
Penang has drawn a wave of technology investments in recent years from firms such as Lam Research, Infineon Technologies, Texas Instruments and Micron Technology. The state’s established electronics manufacturing base, multilingual workforce and deep supply chain make it a strong fit for companies expanding their hardware engineering footprint in the region. The ISSQUARED hub adds to that momentum and underscores Penang’s growing reputation as a destination for hardware and IT product development.
