A man spotted walking naked along Lebuh Bukit Jambul in Bayan Lepas, Penang, last week has been referred to the psychiatric ward at Penang Hospital.
Timur Laut deputy police chief Lee Swee Sake said a police report was lodged on Thursday morning. Officers and paramedics were dispatched to attend to the man, who was reportedly mentally unsound.
The man was found standing in the middle of the road and was detained with the assistance of paramedics. He was subsequently escorted to Penang Hospital by police personnel.
Lee said the man was not carrying any identification documents at the time. Both the police and hospital staff are working to identify him and locate his next of kin.
