A 65-year-old man died after collapsing at a recreational club along Jalan Boundry in Air Itam on Tuesday evening.
Northeast district deputy police chief Superintendent Lee Swee Sake said police received a call at 7.48pm from Seberang Jaya Hospital reporting the incident.
“Initial investigations found that about 7.10pm, the victim suddenly fell from his chair and lost consciousness at the premises,” he said in a statement.
Ambulance personnel confirmed the man’s death at 7.34pm. A physical examination found no suspicious injuries, and investigators found no evidence of foul play at the scene.
A post-mortem conducted the following day determined the cause of death as a ruptured dissecting aortic aneurysm. The case has been classified as a sudden death.
