A joint operation by PDRM, KKM and JPAM were on the way this afternoon at several shopping malls in Penang. Among the malls involved were Plaza Gurney, Gurney Paragon & Prangin Mall.

They were checking on patrons for non-compliance with the MCO SOPs. Among the violations were not scanning the QR code with their MySejahtera application and inter-district travel.
The team also checked upon a few homeless individuals at Komtar bus station. We truly feel their predicament and truly understand that they have nowhere to go. It’s easy for the general public to stay at home, but they do not have a home. Where are they to go?
We are sure that the government understands that and will do their best to help out. During the last MCO, we also saw a few people donating and offering free food for the homeless. We did our part by contributing to the parties that were distributing food.
The situation is getting worse now and we urge everyone to stay at home during this MCO and help our frontliners ease the load. Please adhere to all MCO SOPs during this important time. We can win this war only if we stop the spread.
