There had been several hints of an impending MCO on Penang over the past few days, with Penangites anxious and waiting on the announcement. Just earlier, MKN had announced that 6 districts in Selangor will be placed on MCO from 6th to 17th May 2021.
Nothing about Penang was mentioned and many Penangites sighed a short relief. There is still some chatter online that it would be due soon as we see the spike in Covid-19 cases in Penang especially in schools.
This had made a lot of parents worried and several schools had already declared school to be closed and classes to be conducted online. Some are still open for another week before the Raya Holidays. After the holidays, the schools will start online classes nationwide.
