Tesla Malaysia has switched on its third Supercharger in Penang, this time at Queensbay Mall. The new V4 station opened on 7 August and remains exclusive to Tesla vehicles.
Located in the South Zone Basement near pillar A01, the covered carpark installation gives Tesla owners a fast charging option while visiting the mall, SoyaCincau reported. The V4 hardware features longer cables than older generations and delivers up to 250kW of peak power.
Pricing is set at RM1.08 per kWh during peak hours. Off-peak rates between 23:00 and 04:00 drop to RM0.99 per kWh. No app or payment card is needed to start a session. Owners plug in and charging begins automatically, with costs charged directly to their saved payment method.
The Queensbay station joins Sunway Carnival Mall and Gurney Plaza as Penang’s third Tesla Supercharger. With Queensbay now live, Tesla operates 20 Supercharging locations across Malaysia with a total of 88 DC charge points. The company also runs 18 Destination Charging sites with 76 AC charge points. As early as October 2025, paultan.org reported that Tesla had outlined plans to install Superchargers at Queensbay Mall, Nexus Bangsar South, and Mid Valley Southkey in Johor.
Alongside the Queensbay launch, Tesla is running a limited-time Merdeka promotion. New buyers can choose between a complimentary Wall Connector or 3,000km worth of Supercharging credits, though the two offers cannot be combined. Model Y Premium RWD customers also get a RM13,000 trade-in rebate or a low-interest financing programme at 0.88%, also non-combinable.
Tesla has also added the Model Y to its Refer and Earn programme. The first 10 referred buyers who order a new Model 3 or Model Y using a referral link receive RM1,000 off their purchase. Referrers earn RM500 in Tesla credits for each qualifying referral.
