A section of Jalan Magazine towards Lebuh Carnarvon near Komtar in George Town will be closed in stages for three nights starting 7 August to make way for utility relocation works tied to the LRT Mutiara Line project.
The Penang Mutiara Line (PML) project team said the closure will run from 10pm on Friday, 7 August, until 5am on Monday, 10 August. Three lanes between the Capri Hotel and The Magazine Hotel construction areas will be shut. The leftmost lane stays open throughout.
“Road users can use a temporary additional lane via Jalan Maxwell, Lebuh Tek Soon and Lebuh McNair before entering Jalan Magazine as an alternative route,” the project team said in a statement on 30 July, as reported by The Star.
The works fall under Package CMC1 of the LRT Mutiara Line Project. The Penang Water Supply Corporation (PBAPP) will carry out the utility relocation.
