Tourism Malaysia unveils “Fly Borneo Specials Vol.2”

Tourism Malaysia has launched its latest tourism initiative, “Fly Borneo Specials Vol. 2 – More Adventure Awaits You!” in collaboration with Malaysia Aviation Group and Bank Rakyat. The package aims to boost interstate travel to Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan through airline partners Firefly and MASwings.

The newly unveiled brochure showcases an impressive collection of 113 thematic packages curated by 61 tour operators from Sabah, Sarawak, and Labuan. These packages cater to a wide range of interests, offering travellers a diverse mix of natural landscapes, flora and fauna, adventure activities, cultural experiences and local cuisine.

To make these Borneo adventures more accessible, all packages come bundled with airfare and ground tours at competitive prices. Malaysia Aviation Group is offering a substantial 40% discount on airfare through Firefly and MASwings. Additionally, Bank Rakyat has introduced a 0% interest payment scheme for package purchases using its credit card and terminal, enabling travellers to enjoy seamless Borneo vacations.

The launch ceremony was graced by Y.Bhg Dato’ Yeoh Soon Hin, Deputy Chairman of Tourism Malaysia. Other notable attendees included Mr Ooi Chok Yan, Chief Executive Officer, Penang Global Tourism; Ms Nurmalis Musa, Chief Executive Officer, Tourism Perak; Mr Tan Eu Jeen, Area Manager Northen Region, Malaysia Aviation Group; Mr Muhammad Zaki Abdul Rahman, Georgetown Branch Manager, Bank Rakyat; Ms Barbara Benjamin Atan, Director of Marketing (Domestic and ASEAN), Sarawak Tourism Board: Mr Mahathir Abdul Hamid, Director of Tourism, Culture and Arts Department, Perbadanan Labuan, and Ms Zarinah Haji Amiludin, Marketing Manager, Sabah Tourism Board.

In conjunction with the launch, a Business to Business (B2B) session was organised, bringing together 28 key tourism industry players from Borneo and the Northern Region. This platform provided valuable networking opportunities and showcased the latest products and attractions in Borneo.

This initiative represents a significant step in promoting domestic tourism, particularly to the diverse and adventure-rich destinations of Borneo. With its array of packages and attractive discounts, “Fly Borneo Specials Vol. 2” aims to make exploring Sabah, Sarawak, and Labuan more enticing and accessible to Malaysian travellers.
