G Hotel’s “Phantom of the Opera” staff party dazzles with glamour and awards

G Hotel threw a spectacular “Phantom of the Opera” themed staff party at their grand ballroom, bringing together team members from both G Hotel Gurney and G Hotel Kelawai.

Staff dressed up as the Phantom, elegant damsels and the mysterious Black Plague Doctor, creating a vibrant atmosphere.

General Manager Michael Hanratty kicked off the evening by thanking staff for their hard work, which led to record-breaking revenue and occupancy.

The night began with a lively opening act featuring Hanratty and the hotel’s Head of Departments performing to a dubstep remix of the iconic film’s music.

Guests tucked into an international buffet with BBQ fried rice, Asam Laksa, Seafood Aglio Olio and desserts. Free-flowing beer was available all night.

In a heartwarming gesture, each Head of Department personally served dishes to show appreciation for their teams.

The Food & Beverage Department, Housekeeping and Front Office wowed the crowd with electrifying performances. These included a “Phantom of the Opera” play, a Michael Jackson dance tribute and a fusion of traditional Malaysian dances with a modern twist.

The hotel honoured long-serving staff with Five, 10 and 15 Years Service Awards. Twelve staff received the Five Years award, while seven got the 10 Years award.

The prestigious 15 Years Service Award went to six team members, including Directors of Rooms Syahreezal Bin Kamaruddin and Front Office Manager Derrick A/L N B Chandra Siri.

Senior Duty Engineer Mohamad Fitri Mohd Adnan and Reservation Manager Grace Ooi Kah Siew were named Associate of the Year 2023.

A thrilling lucky draw saw staff win laptops, smartphones and even a Yamaha Ego Avantiz motorcycle. Muhammad Amer Md Puzi from Engineering rode away with the grand prize after conquering the “Fear of the Box” game.

Nor Azlina from Food & Beverage won Best Female Costume for her Black Plague Doctor outfit, while Shaiful Hambry Hamdan from Safety & Security clinched Best Male Costume as the Viscount.

The Food Fighters from Food & Beverage Department were crowned champions of the best performance, winning a RM1,200 cash voucher.

The night wrapped up with a high-energy DJ rave that had staff dancing till late.
