Seven Rapid Penang shuttle buses will be deployed to transport the public to Batu Kawan Stadium for the national-level Unity Week 2025 celebration, operating from tomorrow until 20 July. The Ministry of National Unity and Prasarana Malaysia Berhad (Prasarana) jointly confirmed in a statement that this complimentary shuttle service will be provided by Rapid Bus Sdn Bhd (Rapid Bus), a subsidiary of Prasarana and strategic partner of the ministry.

The initiative is designed to assist the public in planning their journeys and to encourage attendance at the various programmes and activities throughout the four-day event.

“For the Sungai Nibong to Batu Kawan route on the island side, those heading to the stadium can wait at the Sungai Nibong Festival Site. Operating hours are 9 am to 10.30 pm from July 17 to 19, and 9 am to 6.30 pm on July 20, with buses running at 60-minute intervals.

“For the mainland route from Seberang Jaya to Batu Kawan, there will be two pick-up points, at Hotel Blanket and Bank Rakyat Perda. The service will run from 9 am to 10.45 pm from July 17 to 19, and 9 am to 6.45 pm on July 20, with the same 60-minute intervals,” the statement read.

National Unity Minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang praised Prasarana’s effort in providing the free service, describing it as evidence of its ongoing commitment to a more inclusive and people-friendly public transport system. “The ministry extends its utmost thanks to Prasarana Malaysia Berhad for the initiative in providing free shuttle bus service to the public,” he said.

Rapid Bus acting chief executive officer Ku Jamil Zakaria stated that the company remains committed to operating the shuttle bus service for the convenience of the public attending the celebration.

A total of thirty-five activities have been scheduled for Unity Week 2025, such as the Rumah KAMI (ethnic house) exhibition, the Kadazan Dusun and Orang Asli Ethnic Village, the Malaysia Tanah Airku exhibition, and the Susur Masa showcase by the Department of Museums Malaysia.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is set to officiate at the opening ceremony at 10.30 am on 19 July.
