Hunza PICC recently hosted members of the local media for a lou sang session, bringing together media journalists and key company representatives to usher in the Year of the Horse.
Joining the celebration were Dato’ Seri Khor Teng Tong, Khor Tze Ming, and Dato’ Lily Tan. The group first watched a Salmon Cutting Show before gathering with members of the press to toss prosperity together in the traditional Yee Sang ritual.
The celebratory gathering set the tone for what shaped up to be one of Penang’s most anticipated Chinese New Year events. Hunza PICC’s two-day CNY Open House took place on 21 and 22 February 2026 at the PICC Sales Gallery in Bayan Lepas, coinciding with the fifth and sixth day of the Lunar New Year.
Running from 11am to 10pm daily, the open house gave families a chance to experience CNY festivities beyond the usual. Visitors took part in a Treasure Quest Challenge, a game-based adventure where participants completed missions and stood to win exclusive rewards.
The event packed in a full lineup of performances. Highlights included a World Champion Lion Dance, LED Dragon Dance, Wushu Performance, War Drum Performance, and a Face-Changing Performance. A Prosperity Pony Ride added to the family-friendly atmosphere.
Cultural performances rounded out the programme, featuring a Chinese Cultural Dance by Euphoria, Traditional Chinese Fan Dance, and live instrumental sets on the Erhu, Chinese Lute, and Guzheng. A Live Band and Singing Performance kept the energy going through the evening.
Guests also had the chance to join the Ang Pow Lucky Draw and catch the God of Prosperity Mascot making appearances throughout the two days.
