A female cook from Myanmar was fatally stabbed following an argument with fellow countrymen regarding the quality of food served at an ala Thai restaurant in Lorong Bukit Juru. The incident occurred at approximately 9 pm, resulting in injuries to both the woman’s husband and her friend, who are also Myanmar nationals.

Initial findings indicate that the altercation began when the suspect and several compatriots expressed dissatisfaction with the food provided at the restaurant. An argument ensued between the group and the victim and her husband, both in their 40s. After the woman ordered the group to leave the premises, the suspect contacted his brother and returned to the restaurant, where he stabbed the victim to death with a knife.

Penang Police chief Datuk Azizee Ismail confirmed the incident. He stated that police had arrested three Myanmar men, including the suspect and his brother, to assist with the ongoing investigation. “The suspect is believed to have been drunk at the time of the fight, and further investigations are being conducted under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder,” said Datuk Azizee Ismail. All victims were transported to Seberang Jaya Hospital.
