As the Holy Month of Ramadan approaches, The Light Hotel Penang invites all guests to experience a quintessential Ramadan experience with a variety of exquisite culinary delights to tickle your taste buds and celebrate the month of giving and sharing.
Their team of chef, leaded by Chef B. Murugan, Executive Chef supported by Chef Hamizi Hamid, Chef de Cuisine, will be relieving Malaysian kampung dishes such as Patin Asam Tempoyak, Assam Pedas Melaka, Telur Itik Masak Lemak Cili Api & Betik Muda, Daging Dendeng, Udang Sambal Petai, Ketam Berlado, Gulai Ikan Masin Nenas, Ayam Panggang Bumbu Hijau, Ayam Madu Hitam Manis, Ikan Bakar, Kambing Gulai Kawah, Sup Gearbox and the list goes on with 3 rotating menus.
The crowd favourites are definitely their well marinated, succulent Whole Lamb Roast and the richly infused with traditional herbs and spices Dum Mutton Biryani which fits for a feast! This ensemble of culinary delight will also feature the Chinese specialities like Uncle Hn’g Chicken / Duck Rice Balls, Soy Sauce Egg, Nyonya Style Otak-otak, Mantis Prawn with Salted Egg under the mentorship of Chef H’ng Wee Kiang, Chinese Sous Chef whereas the Indian Corner offers super delicious kari kepala ikan, dalca tulang kambing, Ayam Masak ala Chettinad, Sotong Goreng 65 and others. For those who prefer Western dishes, there are Seafood Marinara Pasta, Smoked Salmon with Chive Mashed Potato, Shepherd’s Pie are just to name a few.
Additionally this year their specialty includes Nasi Kurma Ayam Cincang Berempah, Braised Beef Short Ribs Malay Style, Mee Udang Galah, Assam Laksa Ikan Kembung, Popia Basah Sambal Ikan Bilis, Chicken Teriyaki Skewer, Sotong Kangkung and Fish Head Noodle Soup and as for the beverages apart from their hot lemak manis teh tarik, try out their teh Ais Cincau!
Twelve individual action stalls will be spaced around the restaurant featuring special signature dishes. Guests can expect D’light Pasembur, Noodle Counter, Seafood Grill Station Beef, murtabak maggi amongst many other must-try dishes.
